Write-O
We've had lots of feedback from our "Read-O" and "Math-O" that was posted a few days ago and so I wanted to post the "Write-O" that I made a few years back! Hopefully you will find this as a great take-home activity with your kiddos. If you download it, leave us some love and let us know what you think!

Thank you! My son doesn't really like writing, and I am on a mission to find some new ways to increase his tolerance;) I love the ideas! Thanks again!

Call me crazy - how do you "play"?
It's actually something that I send home with my kids. They color in a box (or have their parents initial) when an activity is completed. Once it's filled out, either 5-in-a-row or the entire paper, they turn it in as their "Reading Web" points. Does that help?

This looks cute, but I'm guessing you work in a school in a high socio-economic area?? How would you modify this for a home activity if half the parents in the class probably couldn't read it all or do the parent activities?

I like this idea. I did tweak it to meet the writing needs of 4th graders. I use it as daily writing wrap-ups, when students are finished with their work, need some ideas to writing about, and or homework. I changed the words WRITE that were across the to of the page to Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Students only have a choice to write about the things under each specific day, this eliminates students from always choosing to write about the same thing, gives them more writing experiences, and keeps them from getting bored. If they have a favorite thing to write about, they need to wait until that day of the week comes each week, and hopefully they can add more experiences to their writing by then.
Just pinned onto our Writing Board, thanks for sharing! Can't wait to use it afterschool with my daughter. Would love for you to share on our After School Link Up. Here's the link http://theeducatorsspinonit.blogspot.com/2013/01/winter-fun-with-friends-after-school.html

Thanks, I'm always looking for ways to get my son to practice writing. This will be a great reference.
Hi,
I just found this blog on pintrest. I love your ideas for Write-O, Read-O, and Math-O! I unfortunately cannot seem to download them. If you would be willing to email them to me I would really appreciate it. I think they will work right in with my Daily 5 in reading and math. Thank you so much for being so generous.

I am unable to download it but would love a copy please! amyfrink@yahoo.com
I love this to motivate my just finished 2nd grade daughter to get writing this summer, not to mention my class for homework during the school year. I am having a tough time getting it to print, any suggestions?
Thank you so very much...I found this on pinterest and have modified it for my German courses. Thanks!!!!!
Thanks for the great idea! I see kids for OT in the schools, and many are working on their handwriting skills. I think I will adapt this to be either a dice or bingo type game, with completion of the box before covering it.
Willing to give this a try!!!! I like it already will see what my son thinks! Thank you so much for sharing!
Thanks Love it!
I pinned this on my board. It is repinned more than anything else I have on my board. Very creative!
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing this interesting idea. It's surely going to get the students to think and write in a fun way
